Deadline for filing proposed Constitutional Amendments has passed

A flurry of proposals to amend the Arkansas Constitution were filed in the last 36 hours after this entry in the blog. Only three can be referred to a vote by the people, to be determined by the Committee on State Agencies and Governmental Affairs along with a vote of the full legislature. The remaining proposals filed in the last two days are as follows:

HJR1006 Sponsor: Pace -- PROHIBITS THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FROM ENACTING A LAW TO LEVY A TAX OR TO INCREASE THE RATE OF CERTAIN TAXES EXCEPT UPON THE VOTE OF THREE-FOURTHS (3/4) OF THE TOTAL MEMBERSHIP OF EACH HOUSE.
