Progress in Lake View?

A conference call was held yesterday to outline our progress with the Lake View matter. It is my understanding that 11 points of contention were raised in the call, and interested legislators should be filled in on these issues today. If this is correct, I'll post an update here once I receive it.

The current foundation is $5,622. While funding certainly isn't the only ingredient to providing our students with an adequate education, lots of eyes will be focused on the funding formula and amount.

As I've posted here before, it is my belief that the legislature should set out in detail and clearly define "adequacy," and the definition should include not only the amount of funding necessary to provide an adequate education on a per student basis, but that it should include all of the other "adequacy" factors necessary to set a bench mark to which the legislature should strive to hit each session. This way, the Court has a standard by which to judge our progress. I've said before that I don't think the Court would tinker with the definition so long as we provide one.
