Race for Senate District 20
Scott Sullivan
Larry Teague
One of the hottest legislative races in Arkansas this year is the race to replace term-limited Senator Jim Hill (D-Nashville). I had the opportunity to attend a forum on Friday night in Murfreesboro that included Rep. Scott Sullivan (D-DeQueen) and former Rep. Larry Teague (D-Nashville). Sullivan and Teague are the only filed candidates for this race, and they will face off in the May 20 Democratic primary. Here are videos of both candidates speaking to the crowd to the right.
This is one of only three primary races for the Arkansas Senate this year. The others include District 33, where former House Education Chair Rep. Joyce Elliott (D-Little Rock) is challenging incumbent Senator Irma Hunter Brown (D-Little Rock), and District 17, where Rep. Denny Sumpter (D-West Memphis) is challenging incumbent Sen. Jim Luker (D-Wynne).
