Governor Jindal vetoes pay raise legislation amid recall efforts
After five petitions began circulating to recall Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and legislative leaders over legislation that more than doubled the pay of legislators, Jindal vetoed the bill. The veto may help his image (a poll this week shows that those with either a very or somewhat unfavorable impression of Jindal rose from 7% in April to 36%), but he's now having to deflect some minor criticism for going back on his word that he'd signed the bill.
