Election eve in Missouri
Missouri will hold its primary elections tomorrow to choose nominees for the November 4 ballot. Seven candidates have lined up to replace Governor Matt Blunt, who is not seeking a second term. 10 are in the race for Lieutenant Governor. Here's a voters' guide from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on the statewide and legislative races.
At the federal level, ads are getting testy in the 9th congressional district that involves four Democrats and five Republicans (including former Mizzou football standout Brock Olivo, who's making his first run for public office). Here's a sample of the ads in that race:
Finally, Rachel Storch of St. Louis, a colleague of mine in the DLC Fellows program, is on the ballot with primary opposition tomorrow for her re-election to the Missouri House. Here's her ad to the right. Update: Storch wins with over 82% of the vote.
Also on the ballot is a measure to make English the only language of state government.
