Updated Gustav weather report

The outer rain bands of Gustav are now reaching Arkansas, and it looks like what is left of the hurricane eye is likely to park over the Shreveport/Longview area. According to the latest tropical weather statement, Miller County can expect from six to 12 inches of rain over the next couple of days. Cattle and equipment should be moved to higher ground.

Current conditions in Texarkana (3:30 p.m.) include ENE winds at 16 mph with gusts to 28 mph. We can expect winds up to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph by tomorrow.
