Couple of retreads back for a vote today -- UPDATE

Sovereignty. This resolution firing a warning shot towards the federal government is back up after some of the inflammatory language has been removed. Maybe it's just me, but I think that the people are better served when governments work together, not against each other. We've adopted several resolutions this very session asking Congress to vote one way or another on various and sundry issues, and this resolution reverses course, telling them to leave us the heck alone or else (but keep sending the money, please).

Update: The sovereignty resolution passed with 11 votes. It'll be heard tomorrow Friday (forgot about the amendment to go on Members' Own tomorrow) on the floor. Yeas: Garner, Hutchinson, Greenberg, Baird, Lea, Dismang, Wlkins, Lindsey, Hopper, Carter, and Slinkard. Nos: Lindsley Smith, me, Shelby, Rogers.

Prohibition on Domestic Partnership Registries. This bill is back up for a vote at 10:00 in Rm. 428 after failing on Friday morning. Update: This bill was not presented today.
