From the Capitol
A few observations from outside the Chamber during the first week of the legislative session:
The You-Tube Reporting Generation
I must say that I almost spit Diet Coke all over my keyboard the moment I first saw the posting of Warwick Sabin's interview with Governor Beebe on the internet from a video-capable cell phone (Beebe came across as a champ, by the way). Thank goodness that I'm a small fish and am unlikely to be the target of such reality-based reporting, but this still motivates me to reach my new year's resolution of cleaning up my occasional salty language. Warwick's reporting was nifty, and I think he's blazing a new type of reporting, as I always knew he would. Click here for the video.
Frosh Republicans
Outside of the legislative orientation, this week was the first time that I was able to spend some quality time with the incoming Republicans. Of course, I spent the last several months helping their opponents, so I felt obligated to make amends this week. I'm very impressed with every single one of them. Special distinction to Rep. Dan Greenberg, who I believe is going to make a solid legislator for District 31, my home for six years while Lori put me through law school.
