"Stand your ground" bill back in draft stage

Rep. Burris is amending HB1027 to try and address concerns of the domestic violence advocates and prosecuting attorneys. He's looked at bills filed in North Dakota and Texas and has decided that neither would work but does have a draft circulating. Regardless, it won't be presented in House Judiciary this morning, but a similar bill, SB2 by Sen. Jerry Taylor, is on the agenda in that committee. That bill merely adds "curtilage" to the current law. Curtilage is defined as the area of land adjoining a dwelling to include outbuildings.
