House still waiting on SB959

The Senate Bill that proposes to prohibit the placement of children in a foster home or for adoption with a homosexual person is still in the Senate. I'm anticipating that it will be read across the desk in the House upon adjournment this afternoon and assigned to a committee (likely Judiciary or Aging, Children & Youth). You can track the status of this bill in the right column of this page under "Legislative Center."

The sponsor, Sen. Shawn Womack, is still hospitalized and the latest update I have from Lamoureux is that he is recovering. I'm running another bill for Womack in Special Language in a few minutes and understand from staff that he's up and checking e-mail.
