Governor: Income tax cuts unlikely in near future
Speaking to the Northwest Arkansas Council, Beebe said he doesn't see it in the immediate future. He also told the group that "two or three" economic development announcements are expected soon. Here's the Associated Press story (and Doug Thompson's article).
I think any tax cuts in the next session will be the result of a continuing increase in revenues despite the recent grocery and energy tax cuts made this session. I'd suspect (and I hope) that any potential tax cut movement is aimed at the other half of the grocery tax. We're one of only 15 states that taxes food and food ingredients.
