Governor touts ARHealthNet during stops in SW Arkansas
I ended up being to make the governor's early stop in Magnolia this morning. Traveling with Beebe were former Texarkana resident Wynona Bryant-Williams, executive director of the Arkansas Minority Health Commission, and Dr. Joe Thompson, Arkansas surgeon general. In Magnolia, a question was raised about the plan's potential coverage to county employees. Beebe responded that that is being pursued through a federal request.
Governor's press conference in Texarkana
I wasn't able to make the stop in Texarkana, but my ace roving reporters (parents) were there and e-mailed me these pictures. Here's the Texarkana Gazette story from the conference here. Aaron Brand reports that Texas employees who work in Arkansas can sign up but don’t receive the subsidy -- the employer has to be in Arkansas.
ARHealthNet is a state-subsidized health insurance program designed to help qualified small businesses that employ between 2 and 500 provide an affordable package of health care benefits to their employees. For more information on the plan, visit ARHealthNet.com or e-mail/call me with questions.
