Health and Human Services became separate agencies again today

After two years together, the Department of Health and the Department of Human Services are now two separate agencies again today, the first day of the state fiscal year. Act 1954 of 2005 merged the two agencies into DHHS, legislation which I voted against.

I voted for Act 384 this year, which gave the governor the authority to separate the agencies. Here's the House roll call on that vote. The Associated Press details the split.
