Health care in Arkansas
Here's the Associated Press article from yesterday's press conference in Pine Bluff. Governor Beebe, DHS Director John Selig and others outlined ARHealthNet, a new health insurance plan underwritten by the state and federal government that could provide basic coverage to as many as 50,000 small business employees across Arkansas.
The plan, subsidized for employees whose families make under $40,000 a year, provides coverage for six doctor visits, seven inpatient hospital days, two major outpatient services a year, as well as filling two prescriptions a month.
