Nickels announces for House District 43

Jim Nickels, a college professor, attorney and veteran from North Little Rock announced today that he will seek the seat being vacated by term-limited Rep. Jeff Wood (D-Sherwood). A Vietnam-era veteran of the U.S. Army, Nickels earned his bachelors and masters degrees from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia and his law degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville School of Law. He and his wife of 38 years, Kathy, have two children, Kris and Justin, and two grandchildren. Nickels will run as a Democrat. The only other announced candidate for this position is Tom Raley (R-Sherwood).
