AHC Chairman Barnett announces for House District 97

Arkansas Highway Commission Chairman Jonathan Barnett (R-Siloam Springs) has announced for the House seat being vacated by Rep. Mike Kenney (R-Siloam Springs) due to term limits. The district is made up of extreme southwestern Benton County and parts of northwestern Washington County.

Barnett was appointed to the Highway Commission in 1999. If successful, Barnett would resign from his Highway Commission term because his appointment would not end until a few days after being sworn in to the House next January.
