Potomac primaries
Other commitments kept me away from the blog for most of Monday -- I'll also be away from the computer for most of today and Wednesday. I'll check in later this evening to see how the vote comes out in Virginia, DC and Maryland.
A couple of other items of note from today:
UACCH Foundation receives $1 Million gift for scholarships from SWEPCO
The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope held a press conference on Monday to announce that SWEPCO has donated $1 Million dollars to UACCH Foundation to fund scholarships for Technical and Industrial Programs. UACCH Chancellor Chuck Welch says this donation is the largest single educational gift by SWEPCO and also signifies the largest gift in the history of UACCH.
Huckabee wins Bowie County Straw Poll
Texarkana, Texas and other Bowie County voters held their traditional organized straw poll at New Boston High School last Saturday evening. In a combined primary straw poll, Huckabee garnered 47% to Clinton's 27%. McCain received 14%, and Obama 10%. Other races on the Texas side include contested primaries for U.S. Congress (TX-4 -- Ralph Hall, incumbent), 5th District Court judge, and Bowie County GOP Chair (an elected position). Texans will go to the polls on March 4.
