Super Tuesday: What to look for hour by hour
All times Arkansas time:
6:00 p.m.: Polls close in Georgia
• Dem.: Obama has the momentum and a strong lead in the polls.
• GOP: McCain expects a close win, but it will be close with Huckabee and Romney.
7:00 p.m.: Polls close in Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Tennessee
• Dem.: These nine states make up 646 Democratic delegates. Important states to watch in this hour will be CT, MA, and MO. Recent polls have Obama and Clinton tied at 47% in Connecticut. Missouri's a bellwether, and Massachusetts has the Kennedy angle.
• GOP: These nine states make up 388 Republican delegates. I'm anxious to see how McCain does in Romney's home state of Massachusetts. Huckabee needs wins in AL, MO, TN, and OK.
7:30 p.m.: Polls close in Arkansas
• Dem.: Clinton expects to win big.
• GOP: Huckabee expects a big win.
8:00 p.m.: Polls close in New York and Arizona, and the Democratic caucus ends in New Mexico.
• Dem.: Clinton expects a big win in New York. AZ and NM should be among the more interesting states to watch: NM Governor Richardson decided not to endorse, and AZ Gov. Napolitano endorsed Obama.
• GOP: McCain expects a big win in his home state. He also leads big in New York.
9:00 p.m.: Polls close in Utah
• Dem.: Clinton is the Democratic favorite.
• GOP: Romney expects to win big in this heavily Mormon state.
10:00 p.m.: Polls close in California
• Dem.: Neck and neck here, depending on which poll you're watching. Clinton held a big lead for several months, but the Obama surge has put him ahead in some polling.
• GOP: This morning's Zogby gives Romney a slight lead over McCain here.
