Report from the Arkansas Senate hearings
Here's a recap of this morning's Senate panel activity from Andrew DeMillo. The Senate State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee will continue the Willis v. Crumbly hearings throughout the week as the seven-member panel attempts to settle an election dispute arising from the 2006 runoff for Senate District 16. The committee's recommendation will be presented to the full Senate to vote on whether Sen. Jack Crumbly, D-Widener, can remain a member despite fraud allegations from former Rep. Arnell Willis. Removing a sitting senator requires a 2/3 vote of the Senate.
