Ross, Boozman draw opponents
The Green Party of Arkansas held its nominating convention for federal offices at Vino's on Saturday. It will hold a similar meeting to nominate candidates for legislative (and other federal and local) offices on June 21. Of course, Rebekah Kennedy announced last year that she will challenge Sen. Pryor as a Green Party candidate this year.
The party will also run UA grad student Abel Tomlinson against 3rd CD incumbent John Boozman and Hot Springs attorney Joshua Drake (pictured right) against Congressman Mike Ross in the 4th CD.
Pursuant to legislation enacted in the 86th General Assembly, the Green Party has satisfied the requirements necessary to gain ballot access as a new party -- they are the only third party to do so.
