AMBER Alert and the media

When a child goes missing, the public and often law enforcement turn to the media. KLRT Fox 16 Managing Editor Shane Dietert is bringing an Amber Alert Training class to UALR on August 4th beginning at 9:00 a.m. The workshop is designed to inform the media and law enforcement about the extensive process of getting word to the public as correctly and quickly as possible, but lawmakers, policymakers and others are being encouraged to attend. The seminar is taught by a three-person team from the University of South Carolina’s School of Journalism and Mass Communications. It is free to the public.
