House Democrats' Statewide Tour: Part I
We had a great trip on Saturday. After a long day that included, at least for me, 15 hours and 700 miles, we reached the objective we set at the beginning: we wanted to spend some time spreading our message around the state while getting feedback from people on the issues that most concern them. While we discussed and fielded questions on several topics, we found that the issues on the minds of most people included funding for school facilities, the Lake View case, economic development, and the new increase in the homestead exemption.
Our stops on Saturday included Searcy, Newport, Jonesboro, West Memphis, and Forrest City. We met up with other area legislators in each of those towns and discussed our L.E.A.D. Arkansas package among other things.
Here is an article from the Jonesboro Sun on the event there.
