Two bills signed into law today
I was notified earlier that two of my bills were signed into law this morning by Governor Beebe.
House Bill 1130 (now Act 240) codifies the Uniform Statutory Rule Against Perpetuities and allows the Court to "reform" certain instruments that are invalid due to inadvertent mistakes in order to carry out the wishes of a testator/settlor. You can read more about this bill in this previous blog entry.
House Bill 1362 (now Act 243) revises the Beneficiary Deed in Arkansas.
