Arkansas roundup -- Tuesday

Brummett discusses the Beebe governorship as it transitions from legislative session to conventional executive life and urges him to involve himself in the LRSD crisis.

State Board of Education meeting:
Here's a link to John Lyon's recap of Monday's state Board of Ed. meeting

Andrew DeMillo also covers the meeting and writes that Dollarway and Lead Hill school districts have been removed from the fiscally distressed list by the state Education Board. Both have been on the list since April 2005.

DeMillo also writes about my local school district withdrawing its request for the charter school partnership with Mt. Grove Baptist Church. They'll try again next year. The article also discusses the board's renewal of the charter for the Arkansas Virtual Academy for another five years (with a 300 student cap).
