Supreme Court visits southwest Arkansas

For only the fifth time in modern history, the Arkansas Supreme Court will convene to hear a case outside of Little Rock (this is with the help of Amendment 80, which voters approved in 2000). They'll hear oral arguments at the Johnny Rapert Library Complex auditorium on the University of Arkansas Community College campus in Hope tomorrow (Thursday) at 9:00 a.m. The case to be argued is Mickey David Thomas v. State of Arkansas. After oral arguments and a judicial case conference tomorrow at UACCH, the justices will be visiting with students at various schools in the Hope and Spring Hill area. A brief reception was held tonight in Hope.
