Rep. Aaron Burkes (R-Lowell) not running for reelection

Here's the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette article. He's going to devote more time to his family and business. I feared this may happen -- he's a bright guy that just didn't enjoy the legislative process. The article confirms that.

This move leaves eight seats in Benton County that will be open with no incumbent for the 2008 election cycle. All eight seats have been held by Republicans since at least 1994. Earlier this year, the only elected Democrat in Benton County switched parties to run for District 99 as a Republican.
