Speaking of sunshine in government
The Texarkana Gazette editorial board examines a recent negotiated settlement between a former employee of the City of Nashville, Ark. and several of its elected officials, the details of which are being withheld as part of a confidentiality clause in the settlement. From the editorial:
This is a lawsuit alleging improper conduct by elected officials. The public has the right to know all the details. And if any public money is involved in the settlement the public has an absolute right to know exactly how much and why it is being spent.
