Arkansas weekend

Want to see a parade today? If so, you have plenty of options. Christmas parades are being held today in Des Arc, Clarksville, Beebe, Van Buren, Calico Rock, Heber Springs, Booneville, Harrison, DeQueen, Mountain View, Ash Flat, and the big one will be held in downtown Little Rock, ending at the Capitol. Click on any town for more information.

There are several other tree lighting ceremonies and open house events around the state today. The governor hosted the "Come Home for the Holidays" reception at the Governor's Mansion last night (click for picture) -- he'll be in Rogers tonight with the First Lady to serve as a host for the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation Charity Ball and Auction. Outside of the parade in DeQueen, there's plenty to do in southwest Arkansas today. The Texarkana Chamber held a pancake breakfast at Applebee's this morning. There's a benefit spaghetti supper and singing for Lisa Sinyard at Union Baptist Church in Fulton beginning at 5:00 p.m. Old Washington will host the 21st Annual Christmas and Candlelight event from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
