Southeast Turkey
We're here in Sanliurfa near the Syrian border, where Kurdish is spoken as frequently as Turkish. We caught a 6:00 a.m. flight from Istanbul to Gaziantep yesterday and spent some time along the Euphrates before coming into Sanliurfa. We're a few hundred miles from Mosul, Iraq, but you'd never know it. It's a little after 8:00 a.m. here (we're eight hours ahead), and we'll spend some time in Harran today before catching a flight to Ankara, the Turkish capital, tonight. Here are a few pics:
