Election day note from Rep. Jeff Wood in Iraq

Here's a note from Rep. Jeff Wood (D-Sherwood), who's currently serving in Iraq with 3,000 other Arkansans from the 39th:
From the sounds of it, I am lucky to be over here during this election. The constant robo calls and TV commercials are starting to get on my wife's nerves.

Voting went very smooth over here. We got tons of ballots in for 39TH IBCT soldiers and I have not heard of a single problem by one of our soldiers having trouble voting. Personally, I can say that Pat O'Brien's office did an excellent job this entire deployment. I have received my ballot on time for every single election (I believe I have voted four times since being deployed).

Being over here is going to make for an interesting election night (which will be day over here) watch party. Being 9 hours ahead here, the polls back in Arkansas will close here at 0430 Wednesday morning. I plan on getting up and coming into the office around 0530 to watch the results come in. The good thing about watching results here is that when it gets to be 11:00 p.m. back home, it will only be 0800 in the morning here. I will be able to watch election coverage all day and not lose a bit of sleep.

Tell everyone I said hello back home.

Jeff
