HB1204 passes the Senate 28-7

A supermajority of 27 of the 35 votes were needed for passage of HB1204, and it received 28 votes on the Senate floor just moments ago. Here, Sen. Tracy Steele (D-North Little Rock) closes for the bill after its debate. HB1204 is the funding mechanism for the statewide trauma system and other healthcare initiatives. The bill increases the tax on cigarettes by 56 cents per pack and includes an OTP tax on smokeless tobacco.
