03/03/09: Square root day

Happy square root day, a phenomenon that only occurs nine times a century. The last such day was five years ago, 02/02/04, which coincided with Groundhog Day. The next is seven years away, on 04/04/16.

And thanks for the birthday card, mom and dad. It's a message that rings true: "It's not where or when you arrive -- it's taking the journey that counts." Every aspiring runner and public servant ought to take it to heart. It's a great journey -- thanks (35, but who's counting).
