Supreme Court oral argument/newly released opinions
I stopped by the Supreme Court proceedings in Hope briefly on my way to Little Rock yesterday. It was good to see a large turnout in attendance. Here's coverage of the oral argument:
Texarkana Gazette
Associated Press
Of interest from the Supreme Court outside of the oral arguments in the Thomas case is the opinion written by Justice Danielson on the case to determine whether a new Sam's Club in Fayetteville should be granted a permit to sell alcohol. The Court reversed the trial court's ruling that the Arkansas Beverage Retailer's Association lacked standing in the case, and a new trial was ordered.
The Texarkana Gazette editorial this morning considers whether liquor in a Sam's Club signals a policy change in Arkansas.
