Gambling in Arkansas

The Democrat-Gazette published an article online this morning that appeared in yesterday's print edition outlining the various barriers to gambling in the state, one of which is being challenged now in the state Supreme Court. Daniel Nasaw reports on the history of the framework allowing horse racing and pari-mutuel wagering in Arkansas dating back to the passage of Amendment 46 to the Arkansas Constitution in 1956 and the regulatory statutes that followed.
