Guard adds meal and tarp delivery to its list of missions
The Arkansas Guard's missions continue a week after tornadoes rolled through Arkansas. After answering early calls to assist civil authorities with search and rescue, security, debris removal, generator power, fresh water and aviation support, the Guard continues to answer new calls to assist communities devastated by the storms.
Camp Robinson's Institute Support Unit took on three of those missions, delivering 320 tarps each to the Atkins and Mountain View communities. FEMA provided the tarps to the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management, which in turn tasked the mission to the Guard for delivery. They've also distributed 1,000 MREs in damaged areas (see picture above). Here's a video showing footage of the Guard's reponse (take a few seconds to load):
