Sen. Argue: School funding report lacks details
Sen. Jim Argue (D-Little Rock) told members of the Joint Committee on Education this morning that the state-mandated adequacy report on costs to provide an adequate education leaves too many questions unanswered, particularly on teacher salaries and fuel costs.
"We've sort of thrown our hands up and said oh, these are too complicated, these are too controversial, or worst of all, they're too expensive," Argue told the Associated Press. "We've done little, really, by way of recommendations." Here's a link to the AP article, and here's a link to the report, which was adopted by the Joint Adequacy Evaluation Oversight Subcommittee earlier today.
