Nathan Gordon, former lieutenant governor, dies
Nathan Gordon died early this morning at the age of 92 (he apparently told the nurses that 92 was the new 72). He served his country in World War II and and was elected Lieutenant Governor in 1946. He was reelected ten times, serving a total of twenty years. He was one of only 6 naval aviators to be awarded the Medal of Honor during World War II. His nephew, Allen Gordon, served in the Arkansas Senate from 1983-2001 and, of course,is still well-known in Arkansas politics.
