Ark. Business: UAMS operating loss could top $46 million
Today's Arkansas Business features the projected operating loss of over $46 million for UAMS. UAMS will unveil its new $150 million hospital in January, one of the many projects currently in progress on campus. UAMS anticipates making up the operating losses through "nonoperating" revenue – primarily appropriations from the state Legislature, donations and interest.
For fiscal year ending in 2007, the legislature's nonoperating appropriation to UAMS was $47.3 million. In the fiscal year ending in 2005, it was $41.5 million.
