The VP debate

I doubt many votes moved tonight. Neither candidate hurt their cause, and I thought Palin exceeded expectations. I want to hear more on her position, though, of the theory that the Constitution may give the office of the Vice Presidency more power than it has in the past. Outside of that, I thought she stuck to her broad message pretty well, and both campaigns are probably content.

Fact Checker: Both candidates said some things that were either misleading or inaccurate. Click here to read analysis of claims made tonight on taxes, Iraq, oil, diplomacy, the test ban treaty, military policy, and Hamas.

A couple of the soundbites we'll probably hear in the morning:
• Biden: I call that health care plan the "Ultimate Bridge to Nowhere."
• Palin: Joe Six Pack, hockey moms across the nation, I think we need to band together.
• Palin: I may not answer the questions that either the moderator or you want to hear.
• Palin: I like being able to answer these tough questions without the filter, even, of the mainstream media kind of telling viewers what they've just heard.
• Biden: Look, I understand what it's like to be a single parent...I understand what it's like to sit around the kitchen table with a father who says, "I've got to leave, champ, because there's no jobs here. I got to head down to Wilmington."
