Voting reports -- UPDATE

• Counties to watch: Logan and Van Buren counties have not missed a presidential winner in more than 50 years. Only four others in the United States have done the same. Arkansas as a state has only missed once in that time frame (1968).

• Turnout: Reports are that turnout is extremely heavy statewide. This could play a role in many of the downballot legislative and county races.

• Pulaski County Clerk Pat O'Brien reports that voting in that county has gone smoothly this morning, and the county is ready for the after work voting rush.

10:40 a.m. update: The governor voted at West Race Baptist Church in Searcy this morning after a 40-minute wait in line. He voted against the lottery amendment.

• A line was forming to vote at Bethel Baptist Church at 6:30 a.m. here in Texarkana, an hour before the site opened for business.

• There are lots of nervous candidates out there across the state. We're certain to see at least a couple of Arkansas House seats flip today. Keep a close eye on House races in Boone, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Scott, Sebastian, Washington, and White counties. Races in those counties are likely to determine the composition of the Arkansas House for the 87th General Assembly. Of course, a lot of interest will also focus on the Senate race in Faulkner County.

I'll post more voting updates here as I receive them. You can also follow my reports on Twitter (steveharrelson).
