THV coverage of live-streaming House proceedings
To the right is video of last night's coverage of HB1611 by THV and Melissa Dunbar-Gates. The bill may be presented in House Rules tomorrow. The real bill dealing with live-streaming proceedings both in House committees and on the House floor, though, is HB1783, which provides funding necessary to install one camera in each committee room, to host the bandwidth and streaming, and to store the data digitally. Of course, passing the original bill is worthless if there's no funding -- sort of like the trauma system. It looks as though this won't need to be fully funded to make this project work, but we're going to need to come up with a way to maintain this project (in Tennessee, one employee is designated to control this project -- I think it can be done by sharing existing employees).
