New circuit judgeship in the 4th JD drawing candidates

Earlier in the legislative session, we created a 7th Division in the 4th Judicial District (Washington and Madison counties). The district has the highest per-judge caseload in the state. Two candidates have already announced for the new circuit judge position, and the election will take place on May 25, 2010. The legislature has yet to appropriate the funds necessary for the position. The two announced candidates so far are Charles Duell, a deputy prosecutor from Fayetteville, and Gary Carson, a former circuit judge.
