Amendment 74 v. Amendment 78
The editorial page of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette takes up the recent Arkansas Supreme Court ruling regarding whether TIF districts allowed under Amendment 78 can use funds generated by the state-required 25-mill basic property tax for schools (Amendment 74). The answer was, of course, no, and the editorial believes the ruling won't be the last we hear of this argument.
I'll be away from the blog at some of the area festivals today. I'm going to head down to the 18th Annual Spring Bank Ferry Festival this morning in Doddridge with Camille for the 5K and then over to the Peach Blossom Festival in Nashville. Elsewhere, there's the crawfish boil (and battle of the bands) in downtown El Dorado and Toad Suck Daze in downtown Conway. I'll check in later with pictures.
