Lafayette County back to one newspaper -- Update

I just received the final issue of the 100 year old Lafayette County Democrat. It was purchased by Graves Publishing about two years ago and had a circulation of about 1,300. The newspaper is for sale. For now, the only newspaper in circulation in the county is the Lafayette County Press, which began operation ten years ago from Stamps.

Update (Wednesday): The Texarkana Gazette is reporting that the newspaper has been purchased by NorTex Press, the parent company for Palmer Media Inc.’s weekly papers.
