Departure ceremony for the 39th Infantry Brigade is today

The sendoff for the 3,200 Arkansans in the 39th Infantry of the Arkansas Army National Guard will take place this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Camp Shelby, Mississippi near Hattiesburg. The 39th will be deploying to Iraq later this month. It is the largest deployment for the 39th and the largest deployment for the Arkansas Guard. This will be the second tour for about half of the 39th. Included in the mission are Rep. Jeff Wood (D-Sherwood), PSC Chairman Paul Suskie, and Deputy Attorney General Jake Jones.
