830 wind energy jobs to Little Rock
Roby Brock is at the governor's announcement event at the Little Rock Chamber and reports that Polymarin Composites, an international rotor blade manufacturer for the wind industry, will locate a new factory at the old Levi Jeans plant in Little Rock. In addition, Wind Water Technology, a supplier to Polymarin, will locate in the same facility. All told, 830 jobs averaging $15 per hour will be hired.
Polymarin Composites is a wind turbine blade manufacturer headquartered in the Netherlands and is known as a leading company in the field of developing and producing fibre-reinforced composite structures. Since 1982, its primary objective has been the active development of rotor blades for wind turbines. General Wesley Clark, a Polymarin board member, helped recruit the project to Arkansas. Congressman Vic Snyder was also on hand at the announcement.
