Last day of the conventional session
Today marks day 60 of the session, which is the maximum length of the regular legislative session pursuant to the Constitution. Art. 5, §17 allows for the session to be extended, though, by a two-thirds approval of each chamber. We already did that with HCR1012, which passed the House by a vote of 90-7-1, and concurred in by the Senate unanimously. "No" votes in the House were Reps. Baird, Carter, Greenberg, Hobbs, Kerr, Lea, and Malone (Clemmer voted present). Reps. Dismang and King did not vote.
The 2007 session lasted 86 days (shortest since 1991).
