Number of bills filed down this session

With the last day to file bills upon us, we're significantly down in the number of bills filed this session compared to others. So far on file:

House = 1,087 bills/resolutions
Senate = 903 bills/resolutions

For a total of 1,990.

There were 3,013 bills filed in the 2007 session. 556 were filed on the last day in 2007. Unless we're really busy today, we'll have less than 3,000 bills filed for the first session since 2001.
