2009 Revenue Stabilization Act

This session's legislation that provides the mechanism to prioritize spending, balance the budget and prevent deficit spending by the state is working its way through the legislature. Identical House and Senate bills were approved by the Joint Budget Committee on Friday (here's the amendment with the allocations). Joint Rules require the RSA spreadsheets to be placed on members' desks for three days prior to voting on these comprehensive budget bills. This session's Revenue Stabilization Act has three categories of priority spending: A, B1, and B. The 2007 RSA also contained three categories: A, A-1, and B. In sessions past, RSA's have contained a "C" category.
