Current legislators running for circuit judge draw opponents
Two sitting legislators who are running for circuit judge positions rather than seeking re-election have both drawn opponents. In the 11th Judicial District West (Jefferson, Lincoln counties), Rep. Earnest Brown will be running against Pine Bluff attorney Maxie Kizer. This sixth division seat has routinely heard all of the juvenile cases in the district.
In the 14th Judicial District (Baxter, Boone, Marion, and Newton counties), Sen. Shawn Womack is running against Deputy Prosecutor Chris Carter and Harrison attorney Gail Campbell. The winner will replace the retiring Hon. Roger V. Logan, Jr. The filing period closes Monday at noon.
